Kake resident Veronica Jean Loges died March 31, 2010, in Kake. She was 45.
Born March 9, 1965, in Kake, to Carol Ann Williams and Loren Jackson Sr., she graduated from Kake High School in 1983 and later received a certificate in Community Health and Emergency Medical Services from the University of Fairbanks. She used that knowledge to serve her community until she moved her family to Anchorage in 1998.
She shared her life with the man she had loved since she was 15 years old, her husband, Todd Loges Sr. Together they had three children.
"Veronica was a very loving and patient person," her family said. "She would always stop and help anyone if she could. She was very intelligent and everyone in her family would usually go to her for advice if they had a problem."
The people who filled her heart with love the most were her children and grandchildren. She adored each and every one of them.
"Veronica leaves behind a little bit of sunshine in the people who knew and loved her most," her family said. "She will be greatly missed and never forgotten."
She is survived by her husband; children, Todd Loges Jr., Aaron Loges and Jennifer Kadake; eight grandchildren, Erynn, Evan, Elyssa, Kymani Lee, Ayla, Honey Ann, Rylee and an unborn baby; mother and father; sisters, Lorna Peterson, Lornell Jackson and Wanda Friday; brother, Loren Jackson Jr.; and numerous nephews and nieces, who she loved with all her heart.
A memorial service will be held for her on Saturday, April 10, in Kake. Her family may be reached at P.O. Box 575 Kake, AK 99830.
