Louisa T. Arab
Longtime Juneau resident Louisa T. Arab died April 5, 1998, at her home in Juneau after a short illness. She was 94 years old.
She came to Juneau in 1962 and worked for the chamber of commerce, Gross Enterprises and Behrends Department Store. She retired in 1979.
Her family writes that she was a loving mother to all her knew her, and was affectionately known as Gram Gram to many. She loved to travel, especially to Hawaii, and enjoyed card games and visiting with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Arab.
She is survived by her daughter Helen and son-in-law George Bonnett and daughter Dulcie Collins, all of Juneau, son Harold Arab and daughter-in-law Mariko of Honolulu, Hawaii, and son Richard Arab and daughter-in-law Maria of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren Linda and husband Ian Cryan, Carol and husband Steve Sewill, Ray and wife Carol Collins, all of Juneau, Lester and wife Ginny Cole and daughter Erika of Washington, Michelle Arab of Pennsylvania and Miki Cole of Juneau; and nephews John Asp of Juneau and Svend Asp and wife Maxine of Seattle.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Louisa Hays, Emma Cryan, Jennifer Sewill, Michael and Matthew Cole and Lindsey Collins of Juneau; and great-great-grandchild Mary Hayes of Juneau.
Funeral Mass will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Saint Paul's Catholic Church with a reception following in the parish hall. Pallbearers will be George Bonnett, Steve Sewill, Michael and Matthew Cole, Ian Cryan and Ray Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be John Asp, Svend Asp, Francis Cryan, Alex Cryan and Boyd Cody.
