Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Thefts:

A woman reported at 10:17 a.m. Monday near Glacier Highway the theft of $1,100 from her business. Police have no leads and no suspects.

Police arrested a 47-year-old man for larceny at 9:53 p.m. Monday at the Juneau International Airport.

Vehicle accidents:

No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 9:37 a.m. Monday near Stephen Richards Memorial Boulevard and the Duck Creek Market. A green 1990 Ford, driven by woman, 43, struck a white Ford truck, driven by a man, 31. The green Ford sustained $1,000 in damage. Police said the other vehicle sustained minor damage.

Other:

Capital City Fire and Rescue responded to a backyard brush fire around 4:30 p.m. near Redinger Street. According to Capt. Jerry Godkin, a homeowner was conducting a controlled burn in a container when a spark caught some dry grass. Godkin said the fire quickly spread and nearly reached a nearby house but firefighters extinguished the blaze. Godkin said people need to be careful with open burning by using a covered container and having a hose or fire extinguisher handy.
