Alton Anderson, a 2006 graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School, was accepted to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla. He will become a member of the Embry-Riddle 2008 freshman class and pursue an air traffic management degree. Anderson is the son of Donna Anderson.


Katie Soderberg, of Klawock High School, was accepted to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Ariz., in the fall 2008. The daughter of Gary and Jean Soderberg, she will study aeronautical science.


Elizabeth Schoenfeld, of Douglas, made the 2008 winter quarter dean's list at the University of Washington in Seattle. Schoenfeld is a political science major at the university.


Carl Cross, a student in Harrisburg, Ore., was accepted into the People to People World Leadership Forum taking place April 7-13 in Washington, D.C. He and other students will earn high school credit while studying leadership and exploring some of the United States' most prominent monuments and institutions. Cross was nominated and accepted for the honor based on outstanding merit, involvement and leadership potential. Cross is the son of Collette and Marlen Cross, of Eugene, Ore.; and grandson of Carl C. Nelson and Mike Cross, of Juneau, Diann Morrison, of Eugene, who will be accompanying him to Washington, D.C., and Sherry Cross, of Junction City, Ore.
