FAIRBANKS - University of Alaska President Mark Hamilton on Tuesday announced the two finalists under consideration to replace outgoing University of Alaska Fairbanks Chancellor Steve Jones as interim chancellor.
Both men, John Davies and Brian Rogers, have long records of public service within the university, Fairbanks and the state.
Davies is research director at the Cold Climate Housing Research Center on the Fairbanks campus. He is a former state seismologist and research associate at UAF's Geophysical Institute.
Rogers is principal consultant and chief financial officer for Information Insights, a Fairbanks consulting firm. He served an eight-year term on the UA Board of Regents and previously worked as the system's finance vice president.
