...for all the help.

The Juneau-Douglas High School Track and Field Team would like to thank all of the parents and community members who have helped get this season off to a great start this year. We would especially like to thank all of the people who helped make our Region 5 dance fund-raiser a success. They include Jeremy Kerr, Joanne Pelayo, Roxy Kohler, Bruce Denton, Father J.P., Mary Johns, Dr. Krehlik, Cricket Curtain, Sandi Wagner, Barb Conant, Gordon Conant, Ed Johns, Jenny Johns, Mary Robidoux, Dwight Robidoux, Dale Staley and Deb Morse. We would also like to thank the Sitka Beverage Company and the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Juneau. Thanks to Jessica Menendez, Kia Brix, Michael Bossio for their expertise so far this season, and thanks to Merry Ellefson, Jimmy Stringer, Carol May and Linda Thibodeau for fund-raising help in association with Mac's Cache. The coaches would also like to thank Tracy Rivera, Kevin Hamrick, Guy Thibodeau, Sandi Wagner and Cricket Curtain for helping us make a smooth transition so far this year. Finally, a big thank you in advance to the community for any donations we get in our "toilet paper" fund-raiser April 11. Expect JDHS track and field athletes to come to your home asking for toilet paper or a small donation for a roll of toilet paper!

...for the support.

The Southeast Alaska Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, would like to say thank you to the community for its support of our annual Scouting For Food drive. On March 23 Scouts from 10 units in Juneau worked to collect more than 6,500 pounds of food for hungry people in Juneau. Tthis was kids making a commitment to the community and doing their part to help fight hunger. A thank you also needs to go out to the parents and volunteer leaders who made sure that our scouts were able to get out and canvas the neighborhoods. We also want to say thank you to Shepard of the Valley Lutheran Church for allowing us to use their facilities for sorting the food that day.
