United or divided?

Posted: Thursday, April 10, 2003

I was listening to Rush Limbaugh the other day and was disappointed to hear him once again drone on and on about the liberals this, Democrats that. All of a sudden I had an epiphany. Why is everyone so caught up about being a Democrat or a Republican? The fact of the matter is, we are at war. It doesn't matter if you are on the left or the right, America is at war and, as Americans, we are unequivocally part of this process.

Whether or not you believe in what we, as a country, are fighting for, is irrelevant. As a citizen of the United States, you are a spectator in the current drama unfolding in the Middle East. Your opinion does matter, yet none of us has any direct power to control the events taking place right now in Iraq. We are merely bystanders and, as helpless as many of you may feel, we are all part of the same country and should for once, stand together as a nation.

Instead of being at each others throats, let's stand together for a change. After all, our sons and daughters are sacrificing their lives over there. Remember, united we stand, divided we fall.
