Capital-move costs

Letter to the editor

In response to the editorial "Capital location should be decided by all Alaskans," many people would like to see the capital move, but did anybody actually do a cost analysis on how much it would cost to relocate the whole capital infrastructure to a different location? And if that chosen town could even support such a move? And what about Juneau? The unemployment rate would skyrocket, and then what about the surrounding communities that depend on a medium-size city for support services? I think that cost would outweigh the price of airline tickets for the Legislature, and the cost of a new capitol building. I might be wrong though.
