Hunter education offered this week

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game will offer a hunter education course Friday and Saturday at the Juneau Indoor Shooting Range.

The course includes instruction on firearms safety and handling, wildlife conservation and management, game laws and regulations, hunter ethics and responsibility. Graduates will receive a lifetime hunter education certification recognized throughout North America.

This course is recommended for all hunters and required for anyone under the age of 16 who hunts waterfowl on the Mendenhall Wetlands State Game Refuge without adult supervision.

Register and pick up a pack of study materials at the Douglas office of Fish and Game. For more information, call 465-4265.
