Rory Stitt to perform Requiem April 11

Rory Stitt is restaging his "Requiem" and the "Schoneman Songs" at 7 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Northern Light United Church, at 400 W. 11th St. Tickets cost $15 in advance from Hearthside Books or $20 at the door.

In November, Stitt performed his "Requiem" in Juneau as a work in progress. This time, the performance will be recorded and released as his next CD. There is a full cast of singers and percussionists, and organizers say it promises to be an exciting evening of new music.

The "Schoneman Songs" is a suite of Stitt's great-grandmother's poems that he has set to music. "Schoneman Songs" will be performed by two "Requiem" soloists.
