UNALASKA - Federal authorities are investigating the cause of a charter plane crash on the Unalaska Airport runway.
The Peninsula Airways Grumman Goose was returning from Akutan around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday when it glanced off a tractor trailer on Ballyhoo Road, then crashed on the runway.
The pilot and eight passengers aboard the amphibious plane have not been identified. Workers at the local health clinic said all nine were treated for minor injuries and released.
The truck driver had minor injuries or none at all, according to Public Safety Department Sgt. Jennifer Shockley.
The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating.
The plane sustained significant damage.
