Austin Taylor Smathers, 3 days old, died April 4, 2002, at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle.
His family said he loved to hold hands, be held and hear their voices.
He is survived by mother Andi Smathers, Juneau; father Buddy McCrummen, Juneau; grandparents Brad and Judy Smathers and Don and Clydie McCrummen, Juneau; great-grandmother Darlene Smathers; aunts Ginger Smathers, Anchorage, Stephanie Smathers, Juneau, and Dayna McCrummen, Juneau; aunt and uncle Rose and Darryl McCrummen, Sitka; cousin Laurie Debolt, Juneau; and numerous great-aunts, great-uncles and second cousins in Juneau, Wasilla, Kansas City, Mo., and Tanana.
Private services for family and close friends will be held at 2 p.m. on April 15, 2002, at Alaskan Memorial Park Mortuary and Crematory.
