Eaglecrest Ski Area -- Final weekend of the season: Events include the Bill Tugman Memorial Obstacle and Fun Race on Saturday, and the Third Annual Slush Cup and Costume Day on Sunday. Gastineau Channel Little League -- Preseason mandatory baseball coaches' school: A coaches' school for majors, juniors and senior division coaches and volunteers takes place from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, at Marie Drake School gym. The session will be led by Juneau-Douglas High School coach Jim Ayers. All volunteer coaches for these levels are expected to attend, if possible, and minor division coaches are welcome to observe. A coaches' school for tee-ball, farm and minor league coaches and volunteers takes place from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, at the Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School gym. Mike Lindsey, a longtime volunteer coach and GCLL VP of baseball, will lead the session, which is for all coaches and volunteers in the younger divisions. Dave Massey, a longtime volunteer coach, will lead the session and all volunteer coaches for this level are expected to attend. A coaches' school for major, junior and senior league coaches and volunteers is from 7:30-9 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, at Riverbend Elementary School gym. Juneau Rowing Club open house -- The newly formed club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, at the Juneau Yacht Club near Aurora Harbor. On display will be various rowing shells, literature and other equipment. Peter McKay, who is known for his long-distance rowing adventures in Southeast Alaska, will present a slide show of highlights from trips around Baranof, Chichagof and Admiralty islands. The club is open to all rowers and wanna-be rowers in Juneau, and it plans rowing storage and launching space in Aurora Harbor. A $3 admission charge for adults (free for kids) will be charged. Adult badminton open gym -- Meet from 8-10 p.m. every Monday and Thursday at Auke Bay Elementary School. Teenagers and adults encouraged to attend. All skill levels welcome. Bring a racket if you have one. Shuttlecocks provided. Gym fee is $3. Info: Info: Theresa Walden, 790-2499.

Juneau 4-H spring running program -- The club meets weekly on Thursdays at various times and locations around the city. The club is for runners in grades 1-5 (no kindergarten students this year) and will be led by local runners John and Jamie Bursell. Parents are encouraged to run with their children. The club will meet at different locations each week through July 4 (a schedule is provided at the first meeting), and the season will end with the Governor's Cup Race on Saturday, July 6.
