Opponent of war; advocate of troops

Letter to the editor

Posted: Friday, April 11, 2003

I think people are misinterpreting the message that anti-war demonstrators are giving. I am anti-war, but that in no way means I don't support the troops. Being anti-war means you not only oppose violence and advocate the safety of civilians, but you advocate for the safety of the troops. Is that not one of the strongest forms of nationalism: protecting the well-being of your fellow man? It's not that we don't respect what they do or their cause and effect, we respect their lives.
