Concerts

The 29th Annual Alaska Folk Festival, with evening concerts from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 11-13. Afternoon concerts from noon to 3:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13. Children's concert, 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 12. Details: www.alaskafolkfest.org.

Dance

The 29th Annual Alaska Folk Festival Dances, 7 p.m. to midnight Friday, April 11, and Saturday, April 12, at the National Guard Armory. Details: www.alaskafolkfest.org.

Urban Shock workshops, contemporary dance classes Friday through Sunday, April 11-13 at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School, Juneau- Douglas High School and the Juneau Dance Unlimited Studio. Showcase at 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning at the JDHS gym. $5 for middle school workshop, $10 for each regular dance class and $25 for a full weekend pass. Call 586-ARTS to register.

Events

"A Duality," paintings by Alan Munro and Paul Disdier, on exhibit at the Juneau-Douglas City Museum through April 19.

"Earth, Fire and Fibre," a biennial juried exhibition of objects made by Alaska artists, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, at the Alaska State Museum, 395 Whittier St. Runs through April 19. Details: 465-2901.

"Third Annual Alaska Photographic Arts Association Spring Exhibit." At the KTOO building. Runs through May 1.

"Art Against War: Juneau Artists for Peace," featuring paintings, printmaking, sculpture, poetry and music by local artists. At the Empire Gallery from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 11, and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 12.

"2003 UAS Student Juried Exhibition," work by students sponsored by the University of Alaska Southeast and the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council, at the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council Gallery.
