Misdirected tax dollars

Thank you to Patricia Judson for having the courage to speak the truth about media bias against the Palestinian cause. To support her point, I would like to add a few more comments.

Palestinians brutalized by Israel, U.S. media

Obviously, the killing of Israeli soldiers is a tragedy, and deserving of headline space. However, where is the news about the estimated 200 Palestinians (mothers, babies and children) killed in Jenin in the last few days, according to Amnesty International, which is a very credible organization?

The Palestinian Society for the Protection of Human Rights and the Environment also said it had received reports from witnesses leaving the camp of bodies of residents that appeared to have been run over by military bulldozers and others within the rubble of their homes. It estimated that 30 percent of the total area of the camp, including homes and other buildings, had been destroyed.

As I write my income tax check this week, I wonder what percent of my money last year helped to give the Israeli government that gift of a bulldozer. This week marks Holocaust Remembrance Day. I would like to commemorate the day with a visit the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C., rather than giving gifts of military support to Israel with my tax dollars.
