After listening to months of environmental misinformation and often heated debate, I am pleased that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has stood behind its permit to develop Kensington. The Corps' review of the mine once again proves that Coeur Alaska has put forth an environmentally sound plan.

The Kensington project now has the approval of state officials, the U.S. Forest Service and a double endorsement from the Corps of Engineers. There are no other agencies left to confirm their approval. So let us stop wasting everyone's valuable time and start listening to the facts. The Kensington Mine is safe, sound and good for Southeast Alaska. It will also provide much needed high paying jobs to keep our youth in Alaska.
