With the help of his daughter, Hannah Rose, Glacier Valley Rotarian Dan Dawson, center, bought roses at the boat show. Rotarians Mary Lou Gerbi, left, and Karen Morgan, right, also assisted in the sale. This year 1,800 dozen fresh roses will be flown to Juneau, wrapped in tissue, secured in boxes by the Plant People, and delivered free of charge by Rotary members to any home or workplace in Juneau on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Out of town, Wings of Alaska delivers roses free of charge to Angoon, Hoonah, Haines, Skagway, Tenakee and Gustavus. Roses are available from Rotary members or at the Rotary's Web site at www.juneaurotary.org for $25 a dozen. Since 1986, Rotary rose sales have helped finance University of Alaska Southeast scholarships, Rotary student exchange programs, and community projects. Courtesy of Juneau Rotary.
