Former Juneau resident Daniel J. Kelley died Jan. 17, 2007, in Bethesda, Md., after a short illness. He was 82.

Born June 16, 1924, in Buffalo, N.Y., he moved to Juneau in the fall of 2002 to fulfill his dream of living in Alaska. In the fall of 2005, he moved to Bethesda to be near his daughter. He was a contractor.
Before he died, he expressed thanks to the staff at the Driftwood Inn for all their kindness.
He is survived by his son, Mary Kelley and his wife, Jan Beauchamp, and their two sons, Gabe and Owen, of Juneau; daugher, Marcy Kelley and her husband, Jim Bell, and their three children, Bennett, Hannah and Emma Kelley-Bell, of Bethesda; and eldest son, Michael Kelley, of Greenwich, Conn.
He will be buried with full military honors on April 16 in Arlington National Cemetery.
