JDHS Spring Fever Soccer Tournament - The Juneau-Douglas High School boys and girls soccer teams will host the fourth annual Spring Fever Soccer Tournament at Adair-Kennedy Memorial Park from April 12-14. The Crimson Bears girls team will take on Colony High School and Wheat Ridge from Colorado while the JDHS boys face defending Alaska state champs, South Anchorage, and defending Wyoming state champs, Central. Cost is $5 per day for adults and free for seniors and kids ages 18-and-under.

Juneau-Douglas High School Dance Team clinic - The Juneau-Douglas High School Dance Team is hosting its annual clinic Saturday, April 14, at JDHS. The cost is $35. Registration is available at JDHS on teh day of the clinic only. Kindergarten through 3rd grade registers at 7:45 a.m. and the clinic ends with a parent show from 11-11:45 p.m. The 4th-high school dancers register at 12:15 p.m. and the clinic ends with a parent show from 4-4:45 p.m. Participants will learn a fun hip-hop routine and will receive a t-shirt with certificate. Juneau Sports Association softball rules clinic - The JSA Rules Clinic will be held Thursday, April 19 at the Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School Commons at 6 p.m. Season schedules, league manager's packets and registration for the Lynn Cox Memorial One-Pitch Tournament and information on new and changed rules will be available. Hot Shots versus Young Guns hockey - The High School Hot Shots will play the Young Guns in a fundraising game for the Juneau-Douglas High School hockey program on Tuesday, April 24, at 7:45 p.m. at Treadwell Arena. The Hot Shots feature players from the 2006-07 hockey season. They'll take on the Young Guns, a group of top Tier A players under 30-years-old. Cost is $5 per adult with kids 12-and-under free.

Juneau Soccer Club 2007 club team tryouts - The Juneau Soccer Club invites all youth, grades 6-10, to participate in their competitive team tryouts for summer tournament play. Co-ed Master's Indoor Soccer Sunday - The Co-Ed Master's Soccer Sundays is for experienced men and women soccer players over the age of 30. There will be no formal teams and no referees. Dzantik'i Heeni open gym - Community Schools in cooperation with the PEP grant is sponsoring open gyms at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School on Saturdays from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. for youth in grades 6-12. Mt. Jumbo Gym Preschool Open Gym - The Mt. Jumbo Preschool Open Gym is open to the public on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to noon for all children ages 1-6. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at a maximum ration of four children to one adult. Play equipment and tumbling mats are provided. There is a $1 per child cost for the program. Zach Gordon Youth Center climbing wall - Climbing wall hours are 5-7 p.m. on Mondays, and 3:30-7 p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The climbing wall can be used by people of all ages. Climbers age 20-younger climb free, while adults 21-older pay $5 to use the wall. Youth-adult interaction is encouraged, so an adult climbing with a youth pays no fee. Evening masters swimming program - The Augustus Brown pool hosts a twice-weekly evening masters swimming program. The program will meet from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and is designed to promote and improve the physical and mental well-being of adults age 19-older. Basketball/volleyball court rentals available - The Juneau Community Schools program has basketball/volleyball court rental times available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School. The cost to rent the court is $20 per hour, which must be paid at the time of rental. This is for adult activities only. Info: Juneau Community Schools, 463-1717.
Juneau Department of Parks and Recreation Wednesday and Saturday hikes - For updates on locations of Wednesday and Saturday group hikes, call the Juneau Parks and Recreation Hikes Hotline. Always remember to bring plenty of food and water, wear warm layers of clothing and proper footwear for the hike. No dogs or firearms are allowed. Wednesday hikes are limited to hikers 18 years of age or older. Saturday hikes are open to families, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
