Art 'n Garden Fair booth applications
The deadline for booth applications for the June 13 Juneau Art 'n Garden Fair has been extended to May 1. Artists and craftspeople are invited to exhibit and sell "landscape art" - statues, birdhouses, birdbaths, willow furniture, trellises, whirligigs, chainsaw animals, etc. For applications, visit the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council Web site at www.jahc.org, or call Barbara Belknap at 209-8602.
Applying for continuing education program
The Southeast Alaska Building Industry Association is now accepting applications for its 2004 continuing education program. Two scholarships of $500 per academic year (up to four years) will be awarded to students pursuing further education at two- or four-year institutions in a building-related program. This includes, but is not limited to, architecture, interior design, construction technology, etc. GED students are encouraged to apply. Deadline for applications is May 15.
Scholarship recipients will be announced at Senior Award Night, if a Juneau-Douglas High School student, or notified by mail, if not.
