Other places to see in Port Townsend

Last fall, we stayed at the beautifully decorated Holly Hill House (B & B). Homemade marshmallows, cookies, port and sherry are available at all times in the lounge. All the guests eat their gourmet breakfast at the same time. Breakfast talk could lead to new friends.

Port Townsend is on the Olympic Peninsula. The easiest way to get to PT and the peninsula from the Seattle area is to take a ferry from downtown Seattle or to drive north to Edmonds and take the ferry to Kingston. As you drive from Kingston on Highway 104, be sure you stop at the wonderfully restored Victorian village of Port Gamble.

Port Townsend is a great jumping off place to the San Juan Islands, the Olympic National Forest and Victoria, British Columbia. We have made the day trip by ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria several times. We spent the night in Port Angeles at the uptown Tudor Inn (B & B). Ask the innkeeper for directions to the nearby German restaurant.
