Man carrying infant charged with eluding

WASILLA - Alaska State Troopers say a 25-year-old Palmer man driving with his 19-year-old girlfriend and their six-day-old daughter has been charged with felony eluding and reckless driving.
Steven Whitstine also is charged with reckless endangerment and driving with a suspended license.
Troopers say Whitstine first was pursued Friday night by Wasilla police.
Just after 10 p.m., police and troopers laid down spike strips, which blew out all four tires of Whitstine's 1987 sedan on Lower Road near Wasilla.
Whitstine was booked at the Mat-Su Pre Trial Facility with bail set at $75,000.
