The courteous practice of Douglas residents accommodating vehicles from North Douglas into traffic onto the Douglas Bridge each morning may soon be coming to an end as the roundabout construction is in full swing. This is despite there being little, if any, positive public reception to the idea. It remains to be seen how this "improvement" will relieve congestion at this intersection or whether it will provide any benefit to the folks entering the Douglas Highway from Cordova or David streets, let alone pedestrians. Even so, I will try to have an open mind and hope that this roundabout does not become to this decade what the Nimbus sculpture became in the 1980s.
