A work crew cleans up on June 28, 1985, after a water main broke and flooded the area near the corner of Franklin and Front streets. Work was being done on utilities when a temporary support for the 10-inch water main gave way, rupturing the line. A stream of water shot up several stories high and flooded several businesses in the area. There were no injuries even though the water pressure was strong enough to cause serious injury or death, according to officials.
