Be the first Alaskan on Project Runway

Posted: Thursday, April 15, 2010

Tim Gunn wants Alaska designers. The Lifetime Network is currently casting season 8 of the popular program, and the show's producers are actively seeking Alaskan applicants.

Alaska has never had a contestant on the show, said Janele Randazza of Project Runway.

Fashion designers selected for the show are given a stipend for materials and a few days to create their clothing. Like American idol, contestants are judged on-air, with progressive elimination rounds reducing their numbers each week. The top three designers are then given 12 weeks and $8,000 to prepare a full fashion collection for New York Fashion week. The winner receives $100,000 to launch their own fashion design company.

Apply at www.bunim-murray.com/prcasting or e-mail prcasting@bunim-murray.com. The application deadline is April 22. Applicants must be at least 21.
