JUNEAU - Guest teachers Steve Emmerman and Talya Ring, from Turbo Dog Spirit Center in Chicago, will be in Juneau April 30 to May 2 to offer a special weekend Forrest Yoga workshop themed "Nourishing Your Spirit."
The workshop includes a Friday evening class from 5:30 to 8 p.m., two Saturday classes from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m., and a Sunday afternoon class from 1 to 4 p.m. All classes will be held at Temple Sukkhot Shalom, 211 Cordova St. The entire workshop is $150.
The most senior Forrest Yoga teachers in all of the Midwest, Emmerman and Ring are the directors of Turbodog Spirit Center, a nonprofit yoga community based in Chicago. Forrest Yoga does not require strength or flexibility. It only requires you bring a willingness to learn how to feel authentically and respond honestly. The Forrest Yoga method gets you connecting to your core - getting strong and centered. It uses heat, deep breathing and vigorous sequences to sweat out toxins while the long holds in the pose progressions help you flush, oxygenate and rejuvenate every cell.
Rainforest Yoga is nonprofit community based yoga studio. Scholarships for this workshop are available. For more information, visit www.rainforestyoga.org.
