Consortium offers home dental screenings to Klawock elders

Posted: Thursday, April 15, 2010

KLAWOCK - SEARHC Dental Health Aide Therapist Dan Kennedy - who works at the Alicia Roberts Medical Center in Klawock - and ARMC dental assistant Chelsie Hobart will offer a dental outreach clinic for elders at their homes from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, April 23.

The dental screenings will be performed on a periodic basis, and Kennedy hopes to make this a regular event on Fridays. Check with him to find out when the next home visits for elders are scheduled.

Kennedy and Hobart will make a presentation about dental care for elders, and they will offer some dental services such as oral screenings and ultrasonic denture cleaning while they are at each elder's home. These regular oral health screenings will help Klawock/POW elders learn if they have any further dental needs, so they can schedule a full dental examination.

For more information about the oral health screenings and to schedule a home visit, contact Kennedy at 907-755-4990.
