Residents of Metlakatla and dignitaries from around Alaska and the lower 48 carry a totem pole to the front of the new 31,000 square foot Annette Island Service Unit where it was raised during a dedication ceremony for the medical facility April 8 in Metlakatla. The new multi-million dollar state-of-the-art facility, replacing the outdated clinic, should be in operation by the beginning of May with expanded services.
