Former Juneau resident Edwin Jeffrey "Jeff" Miller, of Gulfport, Miss., died March 6, 2007, at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. He was 55.

He was born on Sept. 14, 1951, in Oregon City, Ore., the son of Jacqueline C. Terry, of Urbana, Ill., and Edwin L. Miller, of West Linn, Ore.
He graduated from Urbana High School in 1969 and received his associate degree in business administration from Clackamas Community College in Oregon City in 1972.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, appreciated the wonders of nature and took pride in his carpentry and building skills, said family members. His career took him from Illinois and Oregon, to the Alaskan wilderness, including several years in Juneau and Gustavus, and to the Gulf Coast. At the time of his death he was making plans to move back to Alaska.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jorgensen; maternal grandparents, James and Ura Colbert; and paternal grandparents, Murray and Agnes Miller.
He is survived by his parents; stepfather, Luther G. Terry; brother, Scott C. Miller, of Peoria, Ill.; sister, Cynthia L. Reiter and her husband John, of Fairmount, Ill.; and daughter, Faye I. Miller, of Eugene, Ore.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
