Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Vehicle accidents:

Police cited a girl, 15, for negligent driving following a three-vehicle accident at 3:22 p.m. Wednesday near Stephen Richards Drive and Riverside Drive. The girl's 1984 Dodge pickup truck outbound on Stephen Richards struck the back of a 1989 Jeep Cherokee heading inbound on Riverside. The Jeep spun around and broadsided a 1994 Plymouth van. The Dodge sustained $500 in damage, the Jeep $3,000, and the van had no damage.

No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday near Glacier Highway and the retaining wall. A 1999 Ford truck, driven by a woman, 83, struck a 1991 Subaru station wagon driven by a woman, 37. The 83-year-old was cited for failure to yield. The Ford sustained $5,000 in damage, and the Subaru had $2,500 in damage.


Capital City Fire and Rescue crews responded at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday to a wildfire at Mile 34 Glacier Highway near Sunshine Cove. The U.S. Forest Service was notified of the fire. Firefighters worked to put out the blaze and clean up for more than two hours. The cause of the fire was unknown by the Empire's mid-day deadline.
