Alfredo 'Fred' P. Yadao and Asuncion 'Asyon' L. Yadao

Longtime Juneau residents Alfredo "Fred" P. Yadao, 88, died April 14, 2002, and Asuncion "Asyon" L. Yadao, 82, died January 13, 2002, in the Philippines.

Alfredo was born on Aug. 6, 1914, in Camiling, Tarlac, Philippines. His family said he was an accomplished artist who loved music and played the saxophone. They said he loved helping people and feeding them his favorite Filipino food.

Asuncion was born on Aug. 15, 1920, in Ilagan, Isabela, Philippines. Her family said she loved children.

They are survived by their children Nenita Bacani and her husband Eugenio, Taurino Yadao, Rogelia Yadao Que, Leo Yadao and his wife Felicidad, Romy Yadao and his wife Elvira, Naty Jose and her husband Rey, Erlinda Carrillo and her husband Alex Carrillo Sr., Avelino Yadao, Efren Yadao and his wife Maria Ellen, and Nelda Reynolds and her husband John; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2002, at the Cathedral of the Nativity. A snack will be served after the service at the church hall. All are welcome to attend.
