JUNEAU - Marking the 106th birthday of Bob Bartlett, Alaska's first senior U.S. Senator from 1959 to 1968, Alaska Living History will present a progam, "Remembering Bob Bartlett," at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Centennial Hall.
Prior to being elected to the U.S. Senate, Barttlett served 14 years (1944-1958) as Alaska's non-voting delegate to the U.S. Congress. He is recognized as the Architect of Alaska Statehood. A statue of Bartlett appears in the rotunda of the U.S. Capital.
John H. Venables, dressed in his 1950s costume, will act out the Bartlett program he presented on Oct. 19, 2009, at the Library of Congress, James Madison Building, Mary Pickford Theater in Washington, D.C.
Refreshments will be served. Other program segments will announced soon. For more information, contact Venables at email@example.com
