Fire help appreciated

Posted: Wednesday, April 19, 2000

The members, students and staff of Faith Lutheran Church and School would like to express our gratitude to the fire department for their efforts in protecting our property from the brush and grass fire that was started by a neighbors burning trash last Friday afternoon.

There were some inaccuracies in the brief article printed in Sunday's paper about this fire, which we would like to clarify. Faith Lutheran Church is ``old'' only in the sense that by God's grace we were privileged last year to celebrate our 45th anniversary as a Christian community here in Juneau. We are very much alive as a congregation as we look forward to observing this Holy Week and the great Easter celebration of the Resurrection next Sunday. Information about our church family may be found each week on the church page.

We do not have a day-care center but rather support a complete preschool through fifth grade elementary school program, which is associated with 2,100 other elementary schools of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

Thank you for the opportunity to correct this information.

Rev. James A. Brubaker Pastor/Principal Faith Lutheran Church and School
