This is in response to a letter by Jos Govaaro of Ketchikan that appeared in the Juneau Empire on March 29.
No bridge for Ketchikan; no capital for Juneau
Govaaro took exception to a letter written by Steve Smellzer to the Empire. I missed Smellzer's letter that presumably objected to the proposed bridge from Ketchikan to its airport.
My first impression is to favor the bridge. I won't try to guess at reasons for Smellzer's objections to it.
My point to Govaaro is that he should not use his subtle humor on such a serious matter - that he or anyone else would vote for moving the capital because one person (or a few) objected to the bridge in Ketchikan. As preposterous as that reasoning sounds, Govaaro, some might believe you are serious.
