JUNEAU - The Alaska Capitol was evacuated for the third time in two weeks, briefly putting lawmakers on hold Friday morning during the busy final days of this year's session.
Building manager Don Johnston says a malfunctioning stairwell smoke detector caused the false alarms. He says a contractor is looking into the problem. He doesn't expect it to cause any more disruptions.
The Legislature is scheduled to adjourn Sunday.
