Juneau police, fire officials, hospital officials and state troopers reported:

Minor consuming:

A girl, 16, was issued a citation about 2 p.m. Wednesday at Juneau-Douglas High School for consuming alcohol.

Thefts, lost/found items:

A man, 63, reported shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday that wooden scaffolding had been stolen from behind a house that he was working on, on Channel Vista. The scaffolding disappeared between April 7 and 9. A value was not given.

A man, 78, reported about 9 a.m. Wednesday that his nine-millimeter Taurus handgun was missing from his apartment at the Mountain View Apartments. He last saw the gun eight months ago.

A man, 49, reported shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday that his son's blue and green mountain bike had been stolen from Floyd Dryden Middle School on Tuesday. The bike was valued at $90. There were no leads or suspects.

A boy, 18, was cited about 6 p.m. at Alaskan and Proud market for concealment of merchandise. He was released.


Police responded shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday to a domestic dispute in front of a bar on South Franklin Street. They arrested a woman, 40, for domestic violence assault and additionally charged her with disorderly conduct when she attempted to kick out the patrol car windows while on the way to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

A man, 32, was arrested about 7 p.m. Wednesday on North Douglas Highway for violating a domestic violence protective order. He was lodged at state prison.

Vehicle accidents:

Police responded about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to the report of a vehicle accident on Egan Drive outbound near Vanderbilt Hill Road. The collision was between a 1993 Ford Festiva driven by a girl, 16, and a 1988 Dodge station wagon driven by a boy, 17. The driver of the Dodge was issued a citation for failure to maintain a safe distance between his vehicle and others. Damage to each vehicle was estimated at $1,000.

Firefighters and emergency medical technicians responded to a report of a vehicle and bicycle accident about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Davis Avenue and Glacier Highway. However, when they arrived on scene, there was no sign of a victim. Bartlett Regional Hospital had no record of anyone's going there for treatment as a result of this accident.


A citizen (neither age nor gender given) reported a single-vehicle hit-and-run about 10 a.m. Wednesday on the Douglas Bridge. The accident involved a van and a traffic light pole. Police located the van and spoke with the driver, who said he was unaware he had struck a light pole.


The Juneau Empire received several tips Wednesday about gunfire near the state prison. The Coast Guard had conducted an exercise at the firing range near the prison in the morning.

A boy, 15, was arrested about 7 p.m. Wednesday on Wood Duck Avenue for driving without a license and also was cited for possession of tobacco. A motorcycle was impounded. The juvenile was released to his mother.
