Former Juneau resident Charles W. Beasley, 72, died April 15, 2004, in Edmonds, Wash.
He was born Nov. 7, 1931, in Prairie Grove, Ark. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. After the war, he moved to Seattle and later came to Juneau where he worked for the U.S. Forest Service. Following his retirement, the family moved to Lynnwood, Wash., in 1988.
His family said he truly enjoyed gardening, backyard barbecues and working around the home as well as being a loyal Mariner fan. They said he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; sons, Mike (Donna) Beasley, David (Jody) Beasley, Mick Beasley, Rick Beasley, George Beasley, John Beasley and Steve (Darla) Beasley; step-children; Matt and Tim Garcia and Marilynn (Mel) Torgerson; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 22, at Beck's Funeral Home, 405 Fifth Ave., S. Edmonds, Wash., (425) 771-1234, with interment taking place at Edmonds Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Northwest Parkinson's Foundation, 1206 123rd Ave. S., Bellevue, WA 98005.
