FAIRBANKS - Fairbanks was the warmest place in Alaska this weekend.
The National Weather Service says the temperature hit 63 degrees at the airport on Sunday.
The warmth had Interior residents streaming from their homes and into the sunshine, but did not match the record high of 68 degrees set in 1999.
The weather service projects temperatures to stay near or above normal through the rest of the week.
Monday's temperatures are expected to top out in the mid-50s.
