ANCHORAGE - The pastor of an Anchorage church says to end outdoor deaths in the city, people need to understand what leads to homelessness.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Pastor Michael Burke told a forum at the church Sunday that job loss, depression, developmental disabilities and substance abuse are the roots of the problem.
Burke told KTUU the first step in helping is willingness to understand it's a difficult issue.
Four bodies have been found outside this year in Anchorage and 13 last year.
