'Just a puppy'

Posted: Sunday, April 22, 2001

My daughter was bitten on the leg and arm, which broke the skin and severely bruised her, as well, by an unleashed dog at Floyd Dryden while sledding. This dog bit another girl that same evening. Just for your information, the owner of this dog did not make any attempt to stop this dog. My daughter commented to her that there was a leash law, and she responded with "he's just a puppy." I called animal control and they quarantined the dog for 10 days and ticketed the owner. They would not tell me what the final outcome was or who the owner was. It sure would be nice if I was able to know the owner of this dog. I truly believes she owes my daughter an apology.

We own Chessy and he is always on a leash. We walk him daily and it is unbelievable how many people don't have their dogs on leashes. Maybe we should have more animal control officers.
