Roberta 'Bobbi' Jean Rodgers

Juneau resident and longtime Alaskan Roberta "Bobbi" Jean Rodgers, 63, died April 3, 2003, in Juneau after a short bout with cancer.

She was born March 12, 1940, at Fort Lewis, Wash. She served in the U.S. Army's Women's Army Corps for two years between 1958 and 1960. At the time of her death, she was employed by the Department of Transportation, Alaska Marine Highway System. She was a member of the Eagles and Juneau Chapter No. 7 Order of the Eastern Star.

Her family said her favorite things were going to garage sales, her crafts, reading, crocheting and her many good friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and brother-in-law, D.E. Dux Thompson.

She is survived by her sister, Nancy Jane Thompson of Douglas; her nephew, Sheldon (Rebecca) Thompson of Fairbanks; and seven grand nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held from 1-4 p.m. on April 26, 2003, in the Scottish Rite Temple.
