Juneau Indoor Shooting Range opens Saturday

The Juneau Indoor Shooting Range reopens Saturday. The hours are: 5:30 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays, and 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. For more information, call 586-4101.

Applications due for fine arts scholarship

All 2005 applications for the Fine Arts Scholarship and Advanced Art Achievement Award are due by 5 p.m., today, to the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council office.

Dance, drama, music, creative writing, visual arts and technical theater students are encouraged to apply. Applications are available from all secondary school counselors, the University of Alaska Southeast financial aid office and the JAHC office. For more information, call 586-ARTS.

Domestic violence conference next week

Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault will host "Intersection of Domestic Violence, Immigration and Culture" from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 26 and 27 at the Goldbelt Hotel.

The statewide conference is for attorneys and justice professionals of all levels. Topics to be covered include assisting immigrant survivors to access justice, cultural competency framework development, Alaska demographics and the practical application of topics within attendees' organizations.

The training is co-organized by the Family Violence Prevention Fund with the support of the Office on Violence Against Women and will feature opening remarks from Mayor Bruce Botelho. There is no charge for attendance. Registration forms are available from the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
