Fort Yukon youth accused of beating man

FAIRBANKS - Three Fort Yukon teenagers have been accused of felony assault after allegedly beating a man with clubs and a sledgehammer.

Fort Yukon police said 17-year-old Jeremiah Alexander, 18-year-old Adam Fields and 19-year-old Isiah Tremblay also face misdemeanor criminal mischief counts.

Police have charged them in the Thursday assault of Kenneth Horace. Witnesses told police Horace escaped to his home after an assault earlier that morning.

According to a criminal complaint, the three allegedly threw a board into a window. Horace didn't have a phone and tried to go to a neighbor for help when he was assaulted in the street.

He suffered bruises and lacerations and was flown about 140 miles southwest to a Fairbanks hospital.

Police said they don't have a motive for the attack.
