JUNEAU - A Juneau man has been sentenced to jail and anger management for being belligerent to a Forest Service officer.
The U.S. attorney's office says Michael A. Paquette was convicted of yelling epithets and physically intimidating the officer at Mendenhall Glacier last year. The 49 year old was sentenced last week to 30 days in jail and one-year probation. He was also ordered to pay fine and complete an anger management program.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jack Schmidt said Paquette was reacting to the officer's request to leash his dogs and remove them away because of bear activity.
Paquette was convicted in another case for spitting in the face of a Sears manager and challenging him to a fight - the same day he was cited for the glacier incident.
