Empire wins 10 awards at Alaska Press Club

The Juneau Empire won 10 citations for journalism excellence in 2006 in the large newspaper category from the Alaska Press Club on Saturday. Five of the awards were for first place in reporting, illustration, layout and design, spot news photo and feature photo.

Southeast journalists won awards in the small newspaper and radio categories too, with honors going to staffers at the Petersburg Pilot, The Skagway News, Ketchikan Daily News and KFSK in Petersburg.
