JUNEAU - "You Gotta Have Art," a one-day exhibit of new artwork by Tisket Seslar, Ellen Northup, Sara Goese, Michael Phelps and Melissa Goese-Goble, will be held noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 27.

The show and sale will be in the new hall at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 4212 Mendenhall Loop Road. Northup said there may be almost 200 pieces in the show.

Phelps is a photographer and will have matted and framed prints for sale. Seslar will have pastels, prints, scratchboard works and jewelry at the show. Goese-Goble will exhibit jewelry, clay sculpture and computer-generated art. Goese will bring her watercolors and blown-glass work, and Northup will have blown glass and oil paintings.

Northup taught glass blowing at the University of Alaska Anchorage and worked as a professional artist for many years before going into social work. She has a glass blowing studio in Juneau.

She said the four artists are longtime friends and recently met Phelps and invited him to participate in the show.

"We all like each other and own each other's stuff," Northup said. "That's nice for a group art show."

She said the new hall at the Mendenhall Valley church is ideal for an art exhibit.

"There's good lighting and it's a really beautiful room," she said.
