Ravenstail weavers to visit glacier center

JUNEAU - The Ravenstail Weavers Guild and Northwest Coast Basketry weavers will be at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitors Center, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 26, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 27.
They will display weavings, demonstrate their techniques and direct small projects for kids and adults.
Kathy Russo, a weaver from Ketchikan, will present a slide show about Guatemalan basketry weavers at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 27. Russo spent a year in Guatemala on a Fulbright grant to study maguey and agave textiles.
