Former Juneau resident Rajesh Kumar Rawal Shrestha, 50, died of a heart attack April 10, 2004, in Sanepa, Kathmandu, Nepal.
He was born Oct. 23, 1953, in Kathmandu and spent much of the early 1980s in Juneau.
His family said he will be remembered for his love of music and good food, his snakeskin cowboy boots, his innate sense of humor and fun, and for the generosity he showered upon his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hira Devi Shrestha, who died in 1995.
He is survived by his children, Mira Rani Shrestha Fielding and Zayn Donovan Shrestha Fielding of Marin County, Calif.; father, Yogesh Bhadur Shrestha; aunt, Gunga Rai Shrestha; brothers, Prakash (Basanti) Shrestha of Kathmandu, Naresh (Lisa) Rawal Shrestha of Juneau, Sanjay Shrestha of Los Angeles, Calif.; sisters Gitanjali (Daniel) Shrestha Dawson of Colorado, Vidhea Shrestha of Kathmandu, Nepal, sister Neera (Walter) Shrestha Weidner; nephews Siddhartha (Kavita) Shrestha, Sumiran Shrestha, Janik Shrestha, all of Kathmandu, Nepal; niece, Freya Devi Shrestha of Juneau; great-nephew Arhant Shrestha of Kathmandu; his girlfriend, Tina Rai of Kathmandu; and many friends in Juneau, the Seattle area and Kathmandu, where he lived for the past eight years.
Cremation and funeral services were held on April 10 in Kathmandu.
