ANCHORAGE - Anchorage police took a carjacking suspect and two other people into custody after a high-speed chase and standoff that closed the Glenn Highway.
The suspect, 30-year-old Terrence Jones, was taken into custody before 10 a.m. Thursday, about three hours after the incident began, Anchorage police spokeswoman Anita Shell said.
There were no injuries in the standoff, but one officer received minor injuries in a collision during the high-speed chase. Two other people in the SUV surrendered shortly after the vehicle was stopped.
The suspects forced a man out of his SUV at an Anchorage intersection earlier Thursday morning, police said.
Police gave chase north on the Glenn Highway, and got the vehicle stopped near Ekltuna.
A standoff followed involving dozens of Anchorage police officers.
